Rev Eyglo Bjarnadottir

Spiritual Care Professional, Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation

In a career that spans over two decades and multiple countries, Rev. Eyglo has dedicated her life’s work to helping individuals recover from the disease of addiction. Born in a small fishing village in Iceland Eyglo studied theology at the University of Iceland in Reykjavik. Eyglo worked as a counselor with heroin addicts in Denmark before moving to the US in 2002. Since 2003 Eyglo has been on staff at Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation in Center City MN, as a spiritual Care Counselor. In her role at Hazelden she leads groups, runs workshops, gives lectures and provides individual spiritual care to patients. Eyglo has in the past five years worked with the treatment of Health Care Professionals seeking treatment and provided education for professionals in residence. Eyglo is an ELCA ordained minister. In the past few years Eyglo has presented on spirituality at amongst other the NAATP National Addiction Leadership Conference and at C4 conferences.
