Patrick Maxwell has over 30 years’ experience in clinical and management experience within NHS and private mental health settings. He began his medical journey as a psychiatric nurse before specialising in addiction psychotherapy. He currently works at Nightingale Hospital as a valued member on the addictions therapy team. Patrick has vast experience working with dual-diagnosis patients with addiction and mental health disorders, within acute and community settings. He is specialised in supporting patients with various psychological difficulties including substance abuse, mood difficulties, interpersonal issues and trauma; as well as providing relapse prevention along with short and long-term therapy.
In his own words, Patrick believes he is “privileged as a therapist to support a client’s choices and curiosity around change. Working in the addiction field enables me to help a person find their authentic self through healing, personal growth and understanding.”
