Creator of the iconic international club nights Pooldisco and Glitterbox, Mark Herman has worked in fashion, music, entertainment and lifestyle for more than 25 years. He launched his career developing and promoting many of London’s best-loved club nights at venues including Ministry of Sound and Fabric, and creating bespoke events for major international brands. For several years he shifted his focus to fashion, revitalising the global brand Religion Clothing as marketing director, before co-creating the stand-alone sub-brand Idol for New Look.
In 1998, having used drugs and alcohol for 15 years, Mark checked into rehab. He continued to work in entertainment and fashion, and in 2011 took on a consultancy as brand director at leading international addiction treatment and rehabilitation centre The Cabin in Chiang Mai, Thailand (thecabinchiangmai.com), later conceiving and developing their new brand Resort 12 (resort12.com), the world’s first premium residential rehab facility dedicated to LGBT+ clients, which opened in 2017. Meanwhile he had also returned to events, creating among others the legendary Pooldisco nights in Ibiza and London, and Defected’s Glitterbox brand comprising events, record releases and merchandise.
Still providing ongoing support to many recovering addicts on a one-to-one basis, and consulting for The Cabin and Resort 12, Mark continues to work at the cutting edge of fashion, entertainment and marketing through his creative agency Herman Honey. hermanhoney.com
