Originally from Antigua but left at age 5 and grew up in New York. Joanne moved to Miami to pursue further education. She completed a BA in psychology and then a Masters in Social work at Florida International University in 1999. Joanne began working in the field of counselling and addiction treatment in 1995 in various settings in the South Florida area with a special focus in psychiatric and dual diagnosed clients.
In 2000 she returned to Antigua and began career at Crossroads. During time at Crossroads, her roles have involved primary counselling, family programme, halfway house, and currently the renewal centre.
