I am Consultant in Addiction Psychiatry and Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London. I was Honorary Senior Lecturer at King’s College London (2008-2011) and at St. George’s, University of London (2003-2008). In 2017 I have received the “Leadership” and in 2009 “Best Employee” awards from my NHS trusts and in 2015 the HSJ Award for Clinical Research Impact. My main research interest is on psychological interventions and hybrid models in addiction, the effect of alcohol detoxifications on the brain and alcohol clinical interventions for special populations. I have received research grants of more than 1,2 million pounds, published more than 70 peer reviewed papers, invited papers and books chapters.
