Charlotte has been a therapist at the Priory since 2014. She started on the addiction unit at North London where she worked with a multi-disciplinary team to run a specialist group and individual therapy programmeme. Since then she has worked across the two London wellbeing sites providing working across both London wellbeing centres at Harley Street and Fenchurch Street providing individual therapy sessions either independently or as support to both the general and addiction programmemes at the North London, Roehampton and Hayes Grove Priory hospitals. Charlotte has a wealth of experience in the addiction field but always works from a standpoint of uncovering the emotional difficulties behind the behaviour, being Passionate about moving away from labels and a focus on the individual, tailoring the modality of treatment accordingly
She also treats those conditions which lead to or are coexisting conditions with addiction in particular anxiety, depression, developmental trauma and other maladaptive coping strategies such as eating disorders or unhelpful relational patterns. She has developed such an understanding from this training to also treat these as standalone conditions
From her experience in Group work Charlotte appreciates the uniquely reparative nature of these setting and the role of the group in the understanding of the self- passionate about this being an important direction for outpatient care. Thus she is launching an interpersonal group combining the principles of MBT- G and Yalom to create a step down option for individual therapy.
