Aoife Dermody is Co-Founder of national research charity Quality Matters. Following over a decade in direct service provision to people experiencing homelessness, drug and alcohol difficulties, people leaving prison and women who had survived domestic violence, Aoife moved into research, policy, evaluation and strategic support for the non profit sector in 2010. Aoife leads on projects in Trauma Informed Care, community health, mental health, children and youth, drug and alcohol, homelessness and housing, social regeneration, disability, intercultural health etc. Aoife lectures at Level 7 & 9 in leadership and management in the non profit sector, and regularly provides in house supports to management and teams seeking to improve their working processes in non profit organisations. Most recently, Aoife and the team in Quality Matters have partnered with national housing charity Novas, supported by Dr Sharon Lambert, to develop the first national cross-sectoral Trauma Informed Care Training and Quality Standards project. Aoife has also established a number of highly successful political/advocacy initiatives and provided voluntary support in a governance capacity to human rights organisations and campaigns.
