iCAAD are thrilled to announce that we will be hosting a panel at the incredible City Lit Festival of Mental Wealth. This year’s festival spans two days, Monday 10th September coinciding with National Suicide Prevention Day and Tuesday 11th September. The festival is known as “The Glastonbury of Mental Health” and includes keynote speakers such as: Geoff McDonald (former Global VP for Unilever, and Mental Health Campaigner), Chris Underhill MBE (Global Social Entrepreneur working with marginalised people) and Artist Grayson Perry CBE.
The festival will provide access across the community to share knowledge and good practice to focus on mental health and wellbeing. This year it will celebrate many aspects of life including personal development, home, work and the community that all contribute to people's mental wellbeing.
iCAAD’s panel will take place on September 10th at City Lit between 16.30 -17.30. It is hosted by Samantha Quinlan, Co-Founder and Director of iCAAD.com and will cover Workplace Solutions for Mental Health and Addiction. This panel will discuss current issues in the management and optimisation of mental health resources in the work place. The discussion will cover strategic issues, prevention, mental health awareness, treatment (from assessment to specialist treatment and to signposting to allied organisation) and maximising performance under pressure.
The experts include Dr Philip Hopley, Consultant Psychiatrist and Managing Director at Cognacity, a leading wellbeing and performance consultancy. Phil has worked in private practice for fifteen years specialising in the mental health of high performers in elite sport and business. He provides consulting to a range of major organisations on people performance and psychological health strategy. Phil’s experience with corporate clients includes keynote talks with BNY Mellon, Knight Frank, Linklaters, and mental health advisory work for PwC’s wellbeing strategy.
Phil graduated in Medicine with Distinction from St Thomas’ Hospital, London before training in General Adult and Forensic Psychiatry. He worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist with the NHS for 7 years before setting up Cognacity. Phil is also nationally recognised as an accomplished expert witness in a wide range of medico-legal areas. He is an expert in stress related health problems, depression, anxiety and drug/alcohol problems. In 2012 he was Lead Psychiatrist at the London Olympics.
The two other experts are Dr Filippo Passetti, Consultant Psychiatrist, and Michael Ishmail, Clinical Director and Supervisor at Addcounsel. Dr Passetti trained in Psychiatry in Cambridge and in London, where he held lectureships and Consultant positions. In Cambridge, he also completed a PhD in Psychology. He is a general adult Psychiatrist specialising in stress, anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar affective disorders, adult ADHD, personality disorders. Additionally, he has a special interest in addiction Psychiatry (for which he has Royal College of Psychiatrists endorsement), including substance misuse (drugs and alcohol), the behavioural addictions and impulse control disorders (gambling, sex, eating, internet, gaming). He is a member of the College of Mindful Clinicians and the Spirituality special interest group of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He previously sat on the Board of Trustees of two London based mental health charities.
Michael Ishmail has practiced in the field of addiction for over ten years. He is a qualified counsellor, psychotherapist and certified psychotherapeutic supervisor. Before becoming Clinical Director and Supervisor at Addcounsel, he was previously Clinical lead at London’s One Day At A Time facility. He specialises in care planning and case management, multi-disciplinary and inter-agency liaison, risk assessment, 1-2-1 and group working provisions as well as training and clinical supervision.
Michael Ishmail and Dr Filippo Passetti will cover the more clinical aspects of the panel’s discussion. This is a knowledge focused session on the continuum of care across the spectrum of mental health issues, including process addiction, and on the resources that are needed to support individuals, teams and the organisation in which they work.
