Advancing Psychosocial resilience in the treatment of addiction and co-existing issues. iCAAD events welcomed Behavioural, Mental and Emotional Health Care professionals to Advancing Psychosocial resilience in the treatment of addiction and co-existing issues. This event presented an interactive day of shared experience and knowledge to ensure positive outcomes for patients with addiction and co -existing disorders. iCAAD is a platform dedicated to expanding knowledge, exchanging ideas and advancing the prevention and treatment of mental, behavioural and emotional health issues.

This conference has gathered local and international expert speakers, who explored:

• What are the requirements, resources and specialised training needs to support the therapeutic relationship between professionals and their patients.

• Effective practices when working with patients in their communities and demonstrating outcomes.

• The current addiction treatment options for Turkish people and their immediate community.

iCAAD Istanbul Video Presentations

iCAAD EVENTS in partnership with Uskudar University and C4 is honored to have invited professionals and graduates to a unique learning experience, dealing with the ever growing social and emotional problems being created by addiction and the co-existing traumas that impact society. The morning presentations, delivered by leading Turkish and foreign experts, formed a knowledge base for the afternoon's unique interactive learning experience.

The afternoon practical workshop saw attendees breaking out to form multi-disciplinary teams who, under the guidance of a wide spectrum of experts, will design integrated treatment scenarios to respond to reality based case studies. The afternoon programme was intended to be a hands on learning and implementation programme to teach fully integrated responses to the pressing societal needs, in order to respond more effectively to addiction and co-existing trauma issues in all of its guises.

iCAAD travels across Europe, delivering conferences and training to Behavioural, Mental and Emotional Health Care professionals from across the world.

The uniqueness of our organisation is that we bring together professionals from many specialist sectors, at each event we have support workers, researchers, clinicians, nurses, and therapist joining up and talking with parents, civil servants, critical services, teachers, and many other professionals.

Welcome and First Presentation: Complex comorbidity of substance use disorders with psychiatric disorders: latest treatment and Deep TMS

Complex comorbidity of substance use disorders with psychiatric disorders: latest treatment and Deep TMS Comorbidity is a medical term, implying any distinct additional clinic condition that exists during the progress of an index disease in a patient. Growing evidence has revealed various associations or interactions between many mental disorders. Patient-tailored treatment approaches for these comorbid disorders would both provide benefit in recovery time and cost. A number of psychiatric disorders are associated with abnormal neuronal activity patterns in deep brain regions. Such abnormal activity is the target of TMS. The non-invasive technology involves applying brief magnetic pulses to the brain. Evidence-based current literature will be carefully evaluated, pharmacological and other treatment interventions will be discussed.

Understanding Addiction

Addiction is a complex issue and includes different problems. The challenge is to detect which problem has priority. It is a chronic problem involving recovery and relapses. Its recovery has a unique progress when compared wıth other mental diseases. Health professionals need to set better expectations about it. Therefore, it is vital to understand the addiction concept and address it with the proper approaches. Health professionals on every level should be able evaluate and treat it effectively. The level of evaluation and treatment can be different but the right approach is the most important step towards to solution. The discussion will be on understanding addiction better and the main principles of addressing it with the right approach.
